2049遯之乾[軟弱無輔, 不能自理]釋遯九三象"係遯之厲, 有疾憊也." [意在外野, 心懷勞苦]釋未濟九二象"九二貞吉, 中以行正也." [雖憂不殆]釋乾初九”潛龍勿用.” 乾文言"龍德而隱者也, 不易乎世, 不成乎名, 遯世無悶, 不見是而无悶. 樂則行之, 憂則違之. 確乎其不可拔, 潛龍也."

2049 遁卦变为乾卦[软弱没有辅助力量,不能自己料理事务] 解释遁卦九三爻的象辞 “系恋于退避的危险,是因为有疾病而疲惫。” [心思在野外,心中怀着劳苦] 解释未济卦九二爻的象辞 “九二爻占问吉祥,是因为居中位而行为端正。” [虽然忧虑但没有危险] 解释乾卦初九爻辞 “潜藏的龙,暂时不发挥作用。” 乾卦的文言传中说 “具有龙的品德而隐居的人,不被世俗改变操守,不追求成名,逃避世俗而没有烦闷,不被世人认可也不烦闷。乐意做的事就去做,忧虑的事就避开它。坚定而不可动摇,这就是潜藏的龙。”

[The mind is in the wild, and there is toil in the heart.] Explain the Image statement of the second line (Jiuer) of the Hexagram of Weiji: "Divination of the second line (Jiuer) is auspicious because it is in the middle position and the behavior is correct." [Although worried, there is no danger.] Explain the line statement of the first line (Jiuchu) of the Hexagram of Qian: "The hidden dragon does not play its role for the time being." In the commentary on the Hexagram of Qian, it is said: "A person with the virtue of a dragon and living in seclusion does not change his integrity because of the world, does not pursue fame, escapes from the world without being upset, and is not upset even if not recognized by the world. Do what one is willing to do and avoid what one worries about. Being firm and unshakable, this is the hidden dragon."

2051 遁卦变为屯卦[洞穴中有一只孤单的乌鸦(“孤”,道藏本、汲古本作 “狐” ,《诗经・北风》中说 “莫黑匪狐,莫黑匪乌。” 指狐狸与乌鸦),水洼中生出蛤蟆] 解释遁卦的卦名,意为退避。蛤蟆,即蟾蜍。 [大象(“象”,牟氏认为当作 “相” )远去万里] 解释坤卦六四爻辞 “扎紧口袋,没有灾祸,谨慎就不会有危害。” [不可以捕获到] 解释屯卦的卦名,意为艰难。

In 2052, the Hexagram of Dun changes into the Hexagram of Meng.[Both people are of royal and noble descent (a free translation of "Ju Wei Tianmen", literally it means both are related to the Heavenly Gate, here it is understood as being of royal and noble origin), but I choose to retire, and the clouds float past the west of me.] Explain the line statement of the fourth line (Jiusi) of the Hexagram of Dun: "Liking to retreat, it is auspicious for a gentleman, but not for a villain." It means giving up what one likes and resolutely retreating. A gentleman will surely obtain auspiciousness, while a villain cannot do it. The Heavenly Gate refers to the gate of the imperial palace. [My eldest brother is jealous of me after taking power.] Explain the line statement of the third line (Liusan) of the Hexagram of Tun: "A gentleman acts according to the opportunity. It is better to give up. Going forward will cause difficulties." It means that a gentleman acts according to the opportunity and it is better to give up. In 'The Book of Songs - Xiaoya - He Ren Si', it is said "Bo Shi Chui Xun, Zhong Shi Chui Chi." Gao Heng's annotation: "Bo Shi refers to the eldest brother." It means that brothers have their own aspirations. [My eldest brother has not shown kindness to me.] Explain the Image statement of the Hexagram of Meng: "Spring water flows out from below the mountain, which is the Hexagram of Meng. Gentlemen, therefore, act resolutely to cultivate their virtues." [Collected Annotations] 0741, the Hexagram of Pi changes into the Hexagram of Jiaren.

 

2053遯之需[三首六目, 政多煩惑]釋遯上九”肥遯, 无不利.” 言高飛遠避, 無所不利. [皋陶瘖聾]即使堯所任命的司法的鼻祖, 臯陶, 遇到政多煩惑的朝代, 也不得不裝聾作啞. 䆁蒙六四象”困蒙之吝, 獨遠實也.” 言孤獨無助, 遠道自棄. 老子曰”𦤎陶喑而為大理, 天下無虐刑, 有貴乎言者也, 師曠瞽而為太宰, 晉國無亂政, 有貴乎見者也. 不言之令, 不視之見, 聖人所以為師也, 民之化上, 不從其言從其行.”[亂不可從]釋需九二“需于沙, 小有言, 終吉.” 言在艱難的情況下等待, 即便稍受他人閒言指責, 終必吉祥.

2053 遁卦变为需卦[三个头六只眼睛(形容怪异、繁杂),政务繁多让人困惑] 解释遁卦上九爻辞 “高飞远避,无所不利。” 意思是高高飞走远远避开,没有什么不利的。 [皋陶(即使是尧所任命的司法的鼻祖)也装作又聋又哑] 即使是尧所任命的司法的鼻祖,臯陶,遇到政务繁多让人困惑的朝代,也不得不装聋作哑。 解释蒙卦六四爻的象辞 “困于蒙昧的困难,是因为独自远离了实际。” 意思是孤独无助,自己放弃了正道。老子说 “皋陶虽哑却能担任大理(司法长官),天下没有暴虐的刑罚,这说明有比言语更可贵的东西;师旷眼盲却能担任太宰,晋国没有混乱的政治,这说明有比视力更可贵的东西。不用言语的命令,不用亲眼看到的明察,这就是圣人成为众人师表的原因。百姓受上位者的教化,不是听从他的言语,而是跟随他的行动。” [混乱的局面不可跟随] 解释需卦九二爻辞 “在沙滩上等待,会稍微受到一些言语中伤,但最终吉祥。” 意思是在艰难的情况下等待,即便稍受他人闲言指责,最终必定吉祥。

In 2053, the Hexagram of Dun changes into the Hexagram of Xu.[Three heads and six eyes (describing something strange and complicated), with numerous government affairs causing confusion.] Explain the line statement of the top line (Shangjiu) of the Hexagram of Dun: "Flying high and retreating far, there is nothing unfavorable." It means flying high and retreating far, and there is nothing unfavorable. [Gao Yao (even the originator of justice appointed by Yao) pretends to be deaf and mute.] Even Gao Yao, the originator of justice appointed by Yao, has to pretend to be deaf and mute when encountering a dynasty with numerous and confusing government affairs. Explain the Image statement of the fourth line (Liusi) of the Hexagram of Meng: "The difficulty of being trapped in ignorance is because of being alone and far from reality." It means being lonely and helpless and giving up the right path by oneself. Laozi said: "Although Gao Yao was mute, he could serve as the Grand Judge (the chief justice), and there were no tyrannical punishments in the world. This shows that there is something more precious than words. Shi Kuang was blind but could serve as the Grand Tutor, and there was no chaotic politics in the State of Jin. This shows that there is something more precious than eyesight. Orders without words and perception without seeing with one's own eyes, this is why sages become teachers of the people. The people are influenced by those in power, not by listening to their words but by following their actions." [The chaotic situation should not be followed.] Explain the line statement of the second line (Jiuer) of the Hexagram of Xu: "Waiting on the sand, there will be some slander in words, but it will be auspicious in the end." It means waiting in a difficult situation. Even if one is slightly criticized by others' idle words, it will surely be auspicious in the end.

 

2054遯之訟[德積不輕, 辭王釣耕]釋遯九五"嘉遯, 貞吉." 言受神明庇佑圓滿退隱. 德積為積德, 常做善事, 積累德行. 史記卷四周本紀”積德行義, 國人皆戴之.” 不輕指有重要性, 因而獲得皇上恩准辭職為平民. 釣耕指漁夫和農夫, 泛指平民.

[三媒不已]不斷聘請媒人. 三媒指結婚時所需的三個媒人. 釋需九五"需于酒食, 貞吉." 酒食指婚宴的酒席.[大福來成]釋訟六三象”食舊德, 從上吉也.” 安享過去的俸祿, 順從長上可獲吉祥. 四部注”呂氏春秋:太公釣于滋泉. 孟子曰:伊尹耕於有莘之野. 三媒即三聘." 所注不妥. 本詩主角辭王釣耕, 而非太公及伊尹. 太公八十多歲至渭水釣魚後, 周文王拜太公姜尚為太師. 史記”夏末, 伊尹生于空桑之中, 被有莘國君庵人收養, 耕于莘野.” 後來湯與莘氏通婚, 伊尹作為莘氏的陪嫁奴隸到商做廚師. 伊尹就以烹調為例, 向湯闡明治國的主張. 商湯想安排伊尹做官, 伊尹推辭不就. 史稱”成湯三聘伊尹.” 三媒並非三聘.

Resigning from the official position and fishing and farming like an ordinary commoner.] Explain the line statement of the fifth line (Jiuwu) of the Hexagram of Dun: "Beautiful retreat, divination is auspicious." It means being blessed by the gods and retiring successfully. "De Ji" means accumulating virtue, often doing good deeds and accumulating moral character. In "Records of the Grand Historian", Volume Four, "The Annals of Zhou", it is said: "Accumulating virtue and practicing benevolence and righteousness, the people of the state all love him." "Bu Qing" means having importance, so one gets the emperor's approval to resign and become a commoner. "Diao Geng" refers to fishermen and farmers, generally referring to common people.[Continuously hiring matchmakers.] Continuously hiring matchmakers. "San Mei" refers to the three matchmakers needed in a marriage. Explain the line statement of the fifth line (Jiuwu) of the Hexagram of Xu: "Waiting with wine and food, divination is auspicious." Wine and food refer to the banquet at a wedding. [Great fortune comes and accomplishes good things.] Explain the Image statement of the third line (Liusan) of the Hexagram of Song: "Enjoying the old kindness, it is auspicious to obey the superiors." Enjoying the old emoluments and obeying the elders can obtain auspiciousness. The annotation in Sibu: "Recorded in 'Lüshi Chunqiu': Taigong fished in Ziquan. 'Mencius' says: Yi Yin cultivated in the wilderness of Youxin. 'San Mei' is the same as 'San Pin'." This annotation is not appropriate. The protagonist of this poem resigns from the official position and fishes and farms like an ordinary commoner, not Taigong and Yi Yin. After Taigong fished in the Wei River when he was over eighty years old, King Wen of Zhou appointed Taigong Jiang Shang as the Grand Preceptor. Recorded in "Records of the Grand Historian": "At the end of the Xia Dynasty, Yi Yin was born in the hollow mulberry tree and was adopted by the retainer of the ruler of Youxin State and cultivated in the wilderness of Youxin. Later, King Tang of Shang intermarried with the Xin family. Yi Yin went to the Shang Dynasty as a dowry slave of the Xin family and worked as a chef. Yi Yin expounded on the ideas of governing the country to King Tang of Shang by taking cooking as an example. King Tang of Shang wanted to arrange an official position for Yi Yin, but Yi Yin declined. Historically, it is called 'King Tang of Shang employed Yi Yin three times'. 'San Mei' is not the same as 'San Pin'."

 

2055遯之師[堅固相親, 日篤無患]釋遯象"天下有山, 遯. 君子以遠小人, 不惡而嚴." [六體不易, 執以安全]釋訟九五”訟, 元吉.” 左傳閔公元年"六體不易, 合而能固." 六體指震為土, 車從馬, 足居之, 兄長之, 母覆之, 眾歸之, 六種卦象. 合而能固指集合眾民而能固守. 合指比卦, 固指屯卦, 以比𠄘屯之變, 故稱合而能固.[雨師鴐西, 濡為轂輪]釋師象"地中有水, 蒙. 君子以容民畜眾." 言君子果決自己的行為, 堅持不懈, 培育美德.[張伯李季, 各作關門]疑為衍文.

2055 遁卦变为师卦[坚定地相互亲近,感情日益深厚没有忧患] 解释遁卦的象辞 “天下有山,是遁卦。君子因此远离小人,不憎恶他们但要保持威严。” [六种卦象的状态不改变,坚持它就能获得安全] 解释讼卦九五爻辞 “讼卦,大为吉祥。” 《左传・闵公元年》中说 “六种卦象的状态不改变,集合起来就能坚固。” 六种卦象指震卦象征土,车跟随马,脚来居住,兄长来引领,母亲来庇护,众人来归附这六种卦象。“合而能固” 指集合民众而能固守。“合” 指比卦,“固” 指屯卦,因为是比卦承接屯卦的变化,所以称为 “合而能固”。 [雨师向西停留,雨水浸湿了车轮] 解释师卦的象辞 “地中有水,是蒙卦(此处原文解释师卦象辞却提及蒙卦,可能有误,暂按原文翻译 )。君子因此包容民众、蓄积众人。” 意思是君子果断自己的行为,坚持不懈,培育美德。 [张伯和李季,各自关闭家门] 怀疑是多余的文字。

In 2055, the Hexagram of Dun changes into the Hexagram of Shi.[Firmly getting close to each other, the relationship becomes deeper and deeper day by day without worries.] Explain the Image statement of the Hexagram of Dun: "There is a mountain under the sky, which is the Hexagram of Dun. Gentlemen, therefore, stay away from villains, not hating them but maintaining dignity." [The states of the six hexagrams do not change, and adhering to it can obtain safety.] Explain the line statement of the fifth line (Jiuwu) of the Hexagram of Song: "The Hexagram of Song is greatly auspicious." In 'Zuo Zhuan - The First Year of Duke Min', it is said: "The states of the six hexagrams do not change, and when combined, they can be firm." The six hexagram states refer to the Hexagram of Zhen symbolizing earth, the carriage following the horse, the feet for living, the elder brother for leading, the mother for sheltering, and the people for attaching, these six hexagram states. "He Er Neng Gu" means gathering the people and being able to hold firmly. "He" refers to the Hexagram of Bi, and "Gu" refers to the Hexagram of Tun. Because the Hexagram of Bi follows the change of the Hexagram of Tun, it is called "He Er Neng Gu". [The Rain Master stops to the west, and the rain soaks the wheels.] Explain the Image statement of the Hexagram of Shi: "There is water in the earth, which is the Hexagram of Meng (Here, the original text explains the Image statement of the Hexagram of Shi but mentions the Hexagram of Meng, which may be wrong. It is translated according to the original text for now). Gentlemen, therefore, tolerate the people and gather the multitude." It means that gentlemen act resolutely, persevere, and cultivate their virtues. [Zhang Bo and Li Ji each close their doors.] It is suspected to be redundant text.

 

2056遯之比[方內不行, 輻摧輪傷]釋遯初六”遯尾, 厲, 勿用有攸往.”言退避太遲, 將有危險.”方內不行, 方枘圓鑿, 格格不入. 翟云"內, 當作枘. 史記孟子傳:持方枘欲內圓鑿, 其能入乎?"[馬楚踶甚]釋雜卦"師, 憂." 尚注"楚, 不馴貌." 踶, 踢. [受子閔時]釋比上六"比之无首, 凶." 言君王與百姓離心離德, 導致民眾不親附, 形同天下沒有元首, 上天必降大難於君王. 尚注"受子應為壽子. 桓十六年, 衛朔搆急子, 使於齊, 將以盜殺諸塗. 壽子閔其兄, 乃自載其旌以行."

2056 遁卦变为比卦[方枘圆凿,格格不入,无法前行(“方内不行” 应是 “方枘不行”,意为方形的榫头无法进入圆形的卯眼 ),车辐折断,车轮损伤] 解释遁卦初六爻辞 “退避在最后,有危险,不要有所前往。” 意思是退避得太迟缓,将会有危险。“方内不行” 就是方枘圆凿,格格不入。翟氏说 “内,应当是‘枘’。《史记・孟子传》中说:拿着方形的榫头想要放入圆形的卯眼,怎么能放进去呢?” [马非常不驯服且爱踢人] 解释杂卦中 “师卦,意味着忧虑。” 尚氏注解 “楚,是不驯服的样子。” 踶,是踢的意思。 [遭受上天的惩罚,怜悯这个时代(“受子闵时” 应是 “壽子闵时”,根据后文解释 )] 解释比卦上六爻辞 “亲比却没有首领,凶险。” 意思是君王与百姓离心离德,导致民众不亲附,就好像天下没有元首一样,上天必定会降大难给君王。尚氏注解 “受子应该是‘壽子’。鲁桓公十六年,卫朔诬陷急子,让他出使齐国,准备在路上派强盗杀掉他。壽子怜悯他的兄长,就自己载着他的旌旗前行。”

In 2056, the Hexagram of Dun changes into the Hexagram of Bi.[A square tenon cannot fit into a round mortise, being incompatible and unable to move forward ("Fang Nei Bu Xing" should be "Fang Ruo Bu Xing", meaning a square tenon cannot enter a round mortise), the spokes of the wheel are broken, and the wheel is damaged.] Explain the line statement of the first line (Liuchu) of the Hexagram of Dun: "Retreating at the end, there is danger. Do not go anywhere." It means that retreating too slowly will lead to danger. "Fang Nei Bu Xing" means a square tenon and a round mortise, being incompatible. Zhai said: "Nei should be 'Ruo'. In 'Records of the Grand Historian - The Biography of Mencius', it is said: Holding a square tenon and wanting to put it into a round mortise, how can it fit in?" [The horse is very unruly and likes to kick.] Explain in the Miscellaneous Hexagrams: "The Hexagram of Shi means worry." Shang's annotation: "Chu is the appearance of being unruly." "Di" means kicking. [Suffering the punishment from heaven and pitying this era ("Shou Zi Min Shi" should be "Shou Zi Min Shi" according to the later explanation).] Explain the line statement of the top line (Shangliu) of the Hexagram of Bi: "Attaching without a leader, it is ominous." 2109遯之中孚[鎡基逢時, 稷契皋陶]釋遯九五"嘉遯, 貞吉." 鎡基, 鋤頭. 四部注”孟子曰:雖有茲基, 不如待時. 書舜典:稷播百谷, 契敷五教, 皋陶明刑. 微子, 紂庶兄也.”[貞良得顧, 微子解囚]釋節六四"安節, 亨."[市恐無虎, 謾言妄語]釋中孚六三”得敵, 或鼓或罷, 或泣或歌.”

2109 遁卦变为中孚卦[就像拿着锄头遇到好时机(得以施展才能),如同稷、契、皋陶那样(建功立业)] 解释遁卦九五爻辞 “美好的退避,占问吉祥。” “鎡基” 指锄头。四部注解:“孟子说:‘即使有锄头,也不如等待好时机。’《尚书・舜典》记载:稷播种各种谷物,契施行五种教化,皋陶严明刑罚。微子,是商纣王的庶出兄长。” [坚守正直善良得到照顾,微子得以解除囚禁] 解释节卦六四爻辞 “安于节制,亨通。” [集市上本来没有老虎却让人恐惧,都是些欺骗人的假话] 解释中孚卦六三爻辞 “遭遇敌人,有的击鼓进攻,有的疲惫休息,有的哭泣,有的歌唱。”

2110 遁卦变为小过卦[骑着毛色黑白相间的騅马和青色的马,向南到太行山去做买卖] 解释遁卦九三爻辞 “系恋于退避,有危险。” [遇到了花斑猛虎,被它吞食而亡] 解释中孚卦六三爻辞 “遭遇敌人,有的击鼓进攻,有的疲惫休息,有的哭泣,有的歌唱。” [被埋葬在渭水的北岸] 解释小过卦上六爻辞 “没有遇到应遇的人却超过了他,如同飞鸟遭到射杀,凶险,这就叫做灾祸。”
